Travelled up to Chelmsford to meet with Matt in a 121 consultation. Extremely helpful and productive meeting. Sad to have missed Neil. Matt and I met at the dinners he and Neil host once a month, and Matt especially has become a mentor to me over the last 12 months. With Matt & Neil being business owners who have already found success, and are still on the coal face within their business - they are an inspiration and clearly have their hearts in the right place. Learning from a mentor who clearly loves what they do and isn't simply selling to me all the time is extremely refreshing.

I recently had an hour with Matt with the primary focus being to remind me of my goals and roles. It's easy to stay on the hamster wheel but sometimes you have to jump out and get out of the cage. We all go through ups and downs in business, and this year has been one of those years. Sometimes you just want to chat to someone who has been through it before, and so it was a no brainer to book a consultation with Matt and Neil. They really gave me so much of their time, to not only discuss what was going on in our business in a broad-brush sense, but to go a step further and dig into the detail. They helped me to look at my numbers in a different way and build a financial plan to move the business forward - not just in terms of what could be done to bring in more income, but perhaps more importantly highlighting where we were spending money that we didn't need to be spending. It really helped me to understand what I want to get out of being a business owner, and actually what the profession (I say 'profession' now, not industry - another Baldock learning!) means to me as an individual. They are intuitive, knowledgeable and just really, really switched on.
