Newton Fallowell and Lovelle football team raise £1500 for British Heart Foundation

A charity football match organised by estate agents Newton Fallowell and Lovelle has raised £1500 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Newton Fallowell and Lovelle, two brands that are part of the Belvoir Group, have chosen the BHF as their charity of choice for 2023 and are embarking on a series of charity fundraisers.

David Spackman, MD of Newton Fallowell and Lovelle, said: “This charity football match was a great event, organised by our Business Development Managers, James Oldbury and Caroline Bayram. The event raised about £1500, and that brings the total raised so far for the BHF to about £4k. We are looking forward to continuing to support this fantastic charity at various events throughout the summer.

“A Newton Fallowell and Lovelle Select XI took on a Romany FC veterans’ team from Northampton called Weekend Wonders at the Newton Fallowell Stadium, Loughborough, which is sponsored by Richard Morris, owner of Newton Fallowell’s Loughborough office. Although the match resulted in a resounding win for the Newton Fallowell and Lovelle team, we did have youth on our side, and we are very grateful to the Weekend Wonders for being good sports and agreeing to take part at short notice when our original opposition team was unable to make the date. Representatives from the British Heart Foundation also came along, and several franchisees supported the event either by attending on the day or through sponsorship.

“We had hoped to raise about £700, so to double our target was a superb result. It was a great day, and we will continue to do what we can to raise funds for this great cause.”

Melanie Meik, Community Engagement and Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for Lincolnshire and Rutland said:

“As part of a wider charity partnership with Newton Fallowell, Lovelle and Nicholas Humphreys, this event was super special. The dedication from the organisers, the branches that came along, support from Agents Giving and of course those that played in the match resulted in a fun day of football, and that is what community fundraising is all about.

“The money raised will help the BHF fund vital research into heart and circulatory diseases like heart attacks, stroke and vascular dementia, and the risk factors that can cause them, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, which impacts the 160,000 people living with these conditions in Lincolnshire.

“For more than 60 years, the BHF has funded research that has turned ideas that once seemed like 'science fiction' into treatments and cures that save lives every day. But millions of people are still waiting for the next breakthrough. It is only thanks to our supporters that we can keep research going and discover the treatments and cures of the future.”
